NH CDFA Community Economic Development Fund

Community Economic Development Capacity Building Program

CDFA launched its Community Economic Development Capacity Building Program to deepen its ability to resource communities that are both vibrant and equitable. The program awards Tax Credits to strengthen organizations in New Hampshire committed to community economic development and advancing initiatives that will support the needs of our communities. The program prioritizes projects that increase collaboration and resource organizations led by and supportive of priority populations and areas.

For many of these organizations, a smaller investment in planning, assessments, or pilot projects now will generate a big impact later. With these resources to strengthen capacity, nonprofits gain another foothold to advance their vision and improved network in the New Hampshire business community.

This year’s Community Economic Development Capacity Building Program awardees are generating impact across New Hampshire by building strong communities. These creative, accessible programs –  deeply rooted in their communities –  will use the funding to get to the next step in their programming and growth. This year’s awardees include:

  • Centro Latino de New Hampshire (CL) is building a self-sufficient, healthy, and civically engaged NH Latino community through education, services, culture, and arts programming. Capacity building funds are for bilingual-bicultural Community Specialists for community outreach to provide connection to programs, services and resources, assistance with understanding and navigating systems, client advocacy, and hosting community meetings.
  • GoodWork is using capacity building funds to convene the Seacoast Impact Circle, an emerging coalition of organizations that provide social services to low-income and marginalized people on the Seacoast. Coalition members include those addressing food, domestic and sexual violence, housing, transportation, recovery support, mental health, and other social needs with a goal to transform the current health and human services system to make it more equitable and accessible to the community.
  • Franklin Building Partnerships: The Franklin Business and Industrial Development Corporation (FBIDC) will hire a consultant for a collaborative rehabilitation project of the Franklin City Hall and Opera House. Capacity funds will be used to engage the community in visioning, funding and strengthening of the institutional capacity to manage this valuable community asset

Collaboration is the throughline of FY2025’s Community Economic Development Capacity Building Program awardees. These three awardees are facilitating coalitions deeply rooted in their communities to strengthen services and create community. You can help.

CDFA seeks your business’s investment in this program to support innovative ideas and organizations throughout the state. Your purchase of tax credits will help organizations to grow at a pivotal moment in their development. The results are stronger community-based nonprofit organizations and an ongoing pipeline of community economic development projects around New Hampshire.
