Community Development Block Grant
Supports the development of viable communities by improving economic opportunities and meeting community revitalization needs, particularly for persons of low and moderate income. Resources are awarded directly to New Hampshire’s cities, towns, and counties, which often sub-grant the funds to a nonprofit or other entity conducting the project. Funding for the Community Development Block Grant program is provided to New Hampshire through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Tax Credit Program
Supports municipalities and nonprofits for specific community economic development projects or programs that show a high degree of community support, build partnerships, and leverage other funds. Grants made to organizations are in the form of tax equity. New Hampshire businesses support the selected projects, resulting in the nonprofit receiving a donation and the company receiving a 75 percent New Hampshire state tax credit against that contribution.

Capacity Building Program
Provides a one-time infusion of capital at a pivotal point in an organization’s development to strengthen organizational infrastructure, enhance existing programs or develop new capacity. The program builds organizational capacity to advance community economic development and infrastructure projects. Grants made to organizations are in the form of tax equity.

Clean Energy Fund
Low-interest loan and credit enhancement programs for businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities to finance energy efficiency, renewable energy, or other clean energy projects. Energy and project funding technical assistance is available.

Small Business Energy Audit Fund
Provides technical assistance and grants covering 75% of the cost of a comprehensive energy audit for agricultural producers and small businesses to assist in planning energy efficiency and renewable energy implementation projects.

Low-Moderate Income Solar Grant and Loan Program
Expand opportunities for New Hampshire residents with limited income to access the benefits of solar and other cost saving energy resources, through housing and community organizations who provide support to these residents. Funding includes grants and coordinated low-interest financing.

Recovery Housing Program
Pilot program deploying federal resources in New Hampshire to help increase the availability of stable, temporary housing to individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder.

Predevelopment Loan Program
Loans up to $100,000 are available to help municipalities and nonprofit organizations prepare local development projects for funding and implementation. Eligible activities include studying the feasibility of a building renovation, gathering public input on a project idea, developing a business plan for a new facility or seeking planning and zoning approval.

Community Development Fund
Support the advancement of capital projects that invest in New Hampshire’s people and communities. By offering flexible financing capital, the fund aims to support the unmet community development finance needs of CDFA partners.
