CDFA will be hosting a series of virtual training sessions designed to support grant administrators and regional planning commissions in successfully navigating key topics related to compliance and federal requirements for the Community Development Block Grant Program. Each session will include a short presentation on the topic and an opportunity for questions and relevant discussions.
The series begins on September 9 and will run through mid-December. Below is a full schedule with brief descriptions of topics to be covered.

Tuesday, September 9, 2025 – Application and Program Guide Changes: This session will walk through updates to the 2025 Application and Program Guide, highlighting key changes along with showcasing the new material.
Tuesday, September 23, 2025 – How to Use GMS to Report Federal Compliance: Learn how to use the Grant Management System (GMS) to report federal compliance activities and maintain eligibility throughout your project.
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 – Build America, Buy America (BABA) Requirements: Discuss how to document BABA requirements in GMS, including product sourcing, waiver types, and compliance documentation.
Tuesday, October 21, 2025 – Procurement: Review federal procurement standards and learn how to properly document purchases to meet Uniform Guidance requirements.
Tuesday, November 18, 2025 – Environmental Review: Learn how and when an Environmental Review is necessary, including timelines, notices, and documenting these in GMS.
Tuesday, December 2, 2025 – Managing Claims: This training covers the claims process, including submitting documentation, avoiding common errors, and ensuring timely reimbursement.
Tuesday, December 16, 2025 – Preparing Status Reports: Understand the semi-annually status report requirements, and what documentation is required by HUD.
