State Fiscal Year 2022 L5 Capacity Building Projects

Description: CDFA has supported nonprofit capacity building since the inception of the tax credit program through awards that support a nonprofits ability to further its mission. It is an intentional focus of the program as outlined in CDFA’s authorizing legislation, RSA 162 L:5.

Launched in 2016, the L5 Capacity Building Program provides an infusion of flexible capital at a pivotal point in an organization’s development which can be critical to its growth, ability to pursue new opportunities or create change.

By funding these critical strategic initiatives, we aim to enable our partners to deepen their mission by delivering increased value and meaning to the communities they serve. More specifically, these strategies will:

  • Result in implementation or execution of a new program or line of business;
  • Expand or improve on an existing program or line of business; and/or
  • Strengthen internal capacity to support organizational goals.

In 2021, CDFA has identified a continued need to assist New Hampshire’s nonprofits in becoming more resilient during this time of significant economic disruption due to the COVID-19 crisis. We understand that fundraising for capacity building can be challenging, particularly for organizations serving New Hampshire’s most vulnerable communities and populations, as well as those under resourced or hindered by geographic challenges.

New Hampshire needs a strong, effective nonprofit network with the capacity to support our communities and envision, create, and implement broad-based community economic development projects as we recover from the lasting impact of the pandemic.

In 2021, CDFA will support nonprofits awarded through our L5 Capacity Building Program by raising $395,075 in Tax Credits for State Fiscal Year 2022 (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022). We hope you will consider pledging your support for these capacity building efforts by donating to the upcoming round of L5 Capacity Building Program awardees.
